What is an Escape Room?

Escape rooms are a great kind of intellectual entertainment. Your team will be locked in a specially designed room, filled with puzzles, tasks, and problems to solve. You will have 60 minutes to complete your mission and uncover what happened in the room before your appearance. Each Komnata Quest escape room is a unique immersive experience and has its own special story.

How long does each adventure take?

You will have 1 hour to complete your adventure. You will also need 10 minutes before your experience to prepare and 10 minutes after to debrief and take photos.

Which game should I choose?

Your choice depends on the experience you’d like to get. We have a wide range of escape rooms: detective stories, mystical adventures, Indiana Jones-style missions, horror escape rooms, etc. We suggest you read the descriptions and look at the videos and pictures about the rooms available in your city on our escaper-rooms list. If you are still confused, please do not hesitate to give us a call and we will help you find the perfect adventure!

What is the minimum/maximum team size for each escape room?

Each adventure has its team-size restrictions. You can find this information on the page of each respective escape room. Some of our escape rooms can accommodate more participants than described as an exception. Please give us a call in advance if you want to bring more people than mentioned in your room’s description page.

Is there an age restriction?

Each adventure has its age restrictions. You can find this information on the page of respective escape room. Some of our escape rooms are not suitable for kids under 16 years old, so please, pay attention before making a reservation. We kindly ask you to fallow our age restriction policies to avoid any misunderstanding at the venue.

I am claustrophobic, can I play?

Our adventures have varying levels of open space. If you believe that being in an enclosed space will be a problem for you, please let our staff know in advance so we can make sure that your adventure is more pleasant, fun, and safe.

Are your rooms accessible for wheelchair users?

We always try to make our escape rooms accessible for all those who are hungry for an excellent adventure! However, our rooms have varying levels of accessibility, so please let our staff know about your desirable conditions in advance, as we want you to have an exciting time with us!

Can I take photos or videos in the rooms?

What happens in the escape room, stays in the room! All jokes aside, we do not allow any electronic devices inside of the rooms to prevent any spoilers for future participants. At the beginning of your adventure we will provide you with a locker for your belongings, after which you will lock it and take the key with you.

Are your games scary?

All of our escape rooms are different. We have horror stories, as well as bright and calm adventures. We suggest you read the descriptions and look at the videos and pictures about the rooms available in your city on our escaper-rooms list. If you are still confused, please do not hesitate to give us a call and we will help you find the perfect adventure!

Will anyone else be in the room with us?

You can book any escape room as a PRIVATE experience, so nobody will join your group. To book your adventure please visit the Booking page.

What if I need to get out?

Komnata Quest escape rooms are a fully immersive experience, which is why we ask you to visit the restroom before you enter the room and leave your electronic gadgets in a locker. If, under any circumstances, you’d like to finish your adventure earlier, we will open the entrance door for you. In some of our adventures, the entrance door is always open so that you can escape at any point of your experience, but unfortunately, you will not be able to return to the rest of your group, in order to avoid disturbing your team members. This particular rule may vary at different venues; please contact us to get more details.

What if I get stuck?

We are always there for you! During your adventure, we are watching and listening to you through our cameras and microphones to help you if necessary.

Can we use our phones?

Komnata Quest escape rooms are a fully immerseful experience. That is why we ask you to leave your electronic gadgets outside of the room. At the beginning of your adventure we will provide you with a locker for your belongings, after which you will lock it and take the key with you.

Can we play drunk?

Komnata Quest is a family-friendly experience and the safety of our customers is our top priority. We kindly ask you to schedule your bar time after your adventure with us.

Can we play in the same room again?

If you are ok with solving the same puzzles and experience an identical mission, we are happy to host you at our venue! If you decide to make reinforcement and come with new team members, we will recommend you to keep some secrets of the room, to let your friends get some unexpected and exciting moments.

Special circumstances, facilities & accessibility

I am claustrophobic, can I play?

Are your rooms accessible for wheelchair users?

We always try to make our escape rooms accessible for all those who are hungry for an excellent adventure! However, our rooms have varying levels of accessibility, so please let our staff know about your desirable conditions in advance, as we want you to have an exciting time with us!

Can I play if I am pregnant?

We strongly do not recommend horror escape rooms for pregnant participants. Otherwise, you are most welcome! If you have a more specific question, please give us a call.

Can I play if I suffer from epilepsy?

Some of our escape rooms have health restrictions, and you can find them on the rooms’ description page. During some adventures, you will encounter moments of complete darkness, several jump scares and/or special effects. If you have a more specific question or condition, please give us a call.

Booking

How do I book?

First, you need to choose your adventure and time slot at the booking page. Then you should book your adventure and pay for it. Unfortunately, we do not hold any time slots without a purchase. After you start the reservation process, your chosen time slot will be blocked for 20 minutes. If you navigated away from the payment page and still want to book, you can access the booking page after this time period has passed.

What do I do if I booked the wrong date/time/mission?

Call us as soon as possible. We will try to resolve the issue. We do not guarantee that we can solve your issue if you contacted us without a 24-hour notice.

Where can I find my booking details?

After you make a reservation with us, we will send you a conformational text and email through the contact info you provided upon booking. Please look at your conformational email, and you will find all your booking details there, as well as our policies and rules.

What is your cut-off time?

If you are late more than 10 minutes to your appointment, we will not be able to host your adventure. Payments from missed appointments (late arrivals or no-shows) will be retained as a no-reservation credit. A no-reservation credit may not be used to book a reservation for a specific appointment slot. No-reservation credits may only be used on site and may only be used towards open games 30 min before their scheduled start time.

How do I cancel/reschedule a booking?

All sales are final; no full refunds. Partial refunds are permitted for individual tickets to private rooms that aren’t used after finishing the room with a 2+ person team.
A maximum of 2 reschedules may be made up to 24 hours before scheduled reservation.
Reschedules will not be made less than 24 hours before the scheduled reservation. This includes bookings which are made less than 24 hours prior to appointment.

Booking timed out?

After you start your reservation process, the chosen time slot will be blocked for 20 minutes. If you navigated away from the payment page and still want to book, you can access the booking page after this time period has passed.

Can I add extra players to my booking?

You can add extra members so long as you haven’t exceeded the maximum capacity for your escape room. Otherwise, please get in touch with us to discuss other possibilities.

How much does the experience cost?

Prices for our adventures depend on the day of the week and the number of participants in your team. Please check our Prices page or Booking page for the prices of each escape room.

Late arrival policy, reschedules and cancellations

What time should I arrive?

Guests must arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled game for registration and orientation.

When will I receive my team photos?

We will post your pictures at our Facebook page, or we can send them to you via email upon your request. Usually, we post and send pictures at the end of the operational day. If you don’t want your pictures posted on social media, please let us know in advance.

What is your cancellation & rescheduling policy?

All sales are final: no full refunds. Partial refunds are permitted for unused individual tickets to private rooms after finishing the room with a 2+ person team.

  • Guests are permitted one free amendment to their booking. Any further rescheduled or amendments will incur a £20 reschedule fee.
  • Reschedules will not be made less than 24 hours before the scheduled reservation. Any amendments to bookings made within the 24 hours will incur a £20 reschedule fee. This includes bookings which are made less than 24 hours prior to appointment.
  • Guests must arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled game for registration and orientation. Guests who arrive more than 10 minutes late will not be admitted.
  • You may modify, change your booking up to 24 hours before your reservation with no penalty or fees. However, within 24 hours of your reservation there are no refunds or booking modifications. If you need to change your booking within 24 hours of your reservation, you have only one option: You can move your booking to a different day/time for a £20 change fee. Please understand that these policies are in place because if a group cancels or moves their reservation within 24 hours, it’s difficult to get those vacated slots filled on such short notice, which means we lose out on that business.

  • In the case of any global pandemic/epidemic/ cataclysm beyond our control, bookings will automatically be placed onto a Gift Voucher to be redeemed at any date and time in the future with no expiration date.

How do I travel to Komnata Quest via Public Transport?

Is there a dress code?

Please dress comfortably, to assure that you can move freely and easily in the escape room. Sometimes you will have to crawl or move a lot during your experience.

Is there any space to leave our luggage/coats?

At the beginning of your adventure we will provide you with a locker for your belongings, you will lock it and take the key with you. Large items can stay in our reception area, under watch of our game host.

Is parking available at your venue?

Can we bring food and drinks?

No food or drinks are allowed inside the rooms. However, some of our locations have meeting places or nearby bars.

How many people can we book for in one session?

At the Manhattan location, we can host up to 28 people simultaneously. In the Brooklyn location, we can host up to 28 people at 67 West Street and up to 22 people at 104 West Street.

Can I get a quote?

Please fill out the form at our Corporate events page, and our representative will contact you within 24 hours.

What are your corporate rates?

Our corporate rates depend on the number of people in your group and day of the week. We can provide you with more detailed information after you send us a request from the Corporate events page.

Will we get an invoice?

We do offer invoicing as one of our payment options. Once you decide on the details of your event and settle on a time and date, we will send you your invoice via email.

Do you have meeting space available on site?

We prioritize maximizing the space of our escape rooms, to install more puzzles and fun activities in the rooms. Because of this, we do not have any large meeting place at our locations, but we would be happy to recommend you a good place for a dinner or a drink nearby our locations. Do you provide catering?

We do not provide catering services, however, there always are a bunch of nice restaurants not far away from our locations. You can visit the Contact us page to learn more.

Can organizers watch the teams play from your control room?

When we host several groups simultaneously we try to pay close attention to what is happening in the rooms. We want our guests to get clues on time, and to have a smooth and safe experience while we manage everything happening in the room. Because of this, we do not allow guests to watch the cameras.

We have more people thank your maximum location capacity, how do we book?

We recommend you split your big group into multiple smaller shifts. The first group of people will be separated into all 4 rooms for the first shift. An hour and a half after, we can then host the remainder of your group and separate them into the 4 rooms during the second shift. Each individual shift can only hold up to the maximum location capacity. At the Manhattan location, we can host up to 28 people simultaneously. In the Brooklyn location, we can host up to 28 people at 67 West Street and up to 22 people at 104 West Street.

Can we celebrate a birthday in the escape room?

That’s a wonderful idea! We all deserve to escape sometimes, why not to do that on the greatest day of the year?

I have a bachelor’s party; can I book an escape room for us?

Yes! Make sure to book an evening slot and check all nearby bars!

Can we hide presents in your escape rooms?

Absolutely! Give us a call or send an email in before your adventure.

Can I propose in your escape room?

Yes! Believe it or not, but throughout Komnata Quest history we’ve heard 124 “Yes!”, 57 “I love you!”, 3 “Finally!” and 1 “OMG, why did it take you so long”. Go ahead!

Can we rent your meeting space for after adventure celebration?

In order to rent a space for a celebration, you need to purchase the respective time slots. Please call us for more information and too book these slots.

How can I get a promo code?

After you finished one of our escape rooms, we send you an email with 20% off promo code, which you can use for any other adventure in your city. Besides, we give promo codes to our partners and informational friends. Your first quest can start right now if you try to find a promo code!

I attended your escape rooms but did not receive any promo codes

We send promo codes to the email addresses you provided upon singing into our locations. If you believed that you provided your email upon signing in but still haven’t received your code, please contact your location.

I tried to use my promo code, but it did not work

Some of our promo codes have an expiration date, make sure you are not trying to use an expired promo code.

How much time do I have to use my promo code?

You have one month to use the promo codes that were emailed to you after your initial adventure. Partnership promo codes are not usually limited in time.

How many times can I use my promo code?

You can use the emailed promo codes twice. Partnership promo codes are not usually limited in the number of times they can be used.

Can I share the promo code I received in the email with someone else?

That would be very generous of you! If you don’t want to share, we won’t judge.

How do I redeem a Komnata Quest promo code?

Gift certificates

Can I buy an escape room gift certificate?

Absolutely! Go to the Gift certificate page, choose the value of your certificate, purchase it and we will send one to your email. You can then forward it to the recipient.

How long is gift certificate valid for?

Komnata Quest gift certificates are not limited in time.

What if we want to book an escape room for the price higher than the gift certificate value?

In that case, you should pay the difference between the total price of the booking and your certificate value.
